Listen to the Sound of Jazz: Kids on the Slope Playlists

Just a quick post for now. I just finished watching last season’s Kids on the Slope, and while I have lots of thoughts about it, for now, I’m just gonna share this Spotify playlist of the music that’s referenced in the anime that I compiled.

I limited my list to songs directly mentioned or played, though I probably missed a few. I’m hardly the only one to make this kind of list, though! Erin Finnegan of ANN has a good one:

Spotify user lastdojo compiled a longer, more popular list:

And if you want seven hours of music, with plenty of full albums:

If you enjoy listening to these lists and want to know more about jazz, then watch this space, because I’m currently working on a post about jazz for fans who liked Kids on the Slope, and want to know what to listen to next. But that’s probably a couple weeks away.

Pardon my French, but fuck Spotify. Anyway there’s always youtube.

More on subject, I too wanted to learn more about jazz, even before Kids on the Slope.

I’m not a big fan of Spotify either, since the artists get shit payout for their music, and the application is slow and poorly designed. I use MOG now to stream music, and I’ve been much happier with that. I don’t care much for YouTube, either.

That said, being able to embed playlists that can play straight from a browser is a pretty fantastic tool, and one I plan to use when I finish my Beginner’s Guide to Jazz, along with YouTube. I wish another company had developed this first, but it is what it is.

Sadly MOG isn’t available in Europe yet.
